Meeting Description:

National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) warmly welcomes you to the 13th
International Conference of English as a Lingua Franca (ELF 13), to be held in
Tainan City, Taiwan, in 2021. ELF 13 in Taiwan follows the successes of the
previous ELF conferences held in Helsinki (2008), Southampton (2009), Vienna
(2010), Hong Kong (2011), Istanbul (2012), Rome (2013), Athens (2014), Beijing
(2015), Lleida (2016), Helsinki (2017), London (2018), and Medellín (2019).

ELF 13 seeks to explore the rapidly-growing phenomenon of English as a Lingua
Franca from linguistics, psychology, education, corpus studies,
sociolinguistics, English learning/teaching, and language policy in diverse
settings where English is the contact language for international
communication. Together we will explore the implications and applications of
ELF across disciplines.

Carrying on the vision of the past 12 ELF conferences, ELF 13 will serve as
another stepping stone in bridging the gap among ELF users, educators and
scholars across geographical and cultural boundaries.

ELF is happening around us. LET’s GO ELF in Taiwan in 2022!
