The School of English Literature, Language and Linguistics at Newcastle
University wishes to appoint an outstanding teacher and researcher to the post
of Professor or Reader in Second Language Acquisition.
 
You will make a major contribution to teaching, learning, research and impact
in the English Language and Linguistics subject group. You will also augment
the strategic leadership in the subject group as well as at School, Faculty
and University levels.  

We invite applications from individuals with an outstanding record in research
(including outputs, external grant income, and PhD supervision), successful
research and academic leadership experience, an established international
reputation, and a record of excellence in teaching and impact. Applicants will
have a track record of internationally recognized, original and rigorous
research from the perspective of linguistic theory and firmly embedded in the
field of Second Language Acquisition, with a particular focus on minority
communities.  We particularly encourage applications from scholars committed
to working with minority communities and relevant stakeholders in the UK, and
to developing community-based learning and assessment activities.
