Meeting Description: 

The 40th meeting of the West Coast Conference on Formal Linguistics (WCCFL 40)
is being hosted virtually by Stanford University's Department of Linguistics
from May 13—15, 2022.  WCCFL (pronounced /ˈwɪkfəl/) is an annual linguistics
conference, usually held in the spring at a university in western North
America; WCCFL 1 was held at Stanford University forty years ago in 1982.

Highlights of WCCFL 40:

- Parallel, synchronous talk sessions scheduled for Pacific Daylight Time
(PDT)
- A special session on Focus, Prosody and Ellipsis
- Three invited speakers: Line Mikkelsen (Berkeley), Juliet Stanton (NYU),
Guillaume Thomas (Toronto)
- From WCCFL 1 to WCCFL 40 and beyond: Reflections on linguistics and
linguists --- A conversation between Sandra Chung (UCSC) and Paul Kiparsky
(Stanford University), moderated by Deniz Rudin (USC)
