Meeting Description:

The 9th International Conference on Experimental Phonetics (CIFE 2023) aims at
bringing together researchers, theorists and practitioners from across a
variety of disciplines, among which are acoustic phonetics, auditory
phonetics, articulatory phonetics, psycholinguistics and acoustic phonetics,
experimental phonetics, teaching and learning, speech prosody, sound change,
sociophonetics, language typology, first and second language phonetics
acquisition, forensic phonetics, clinical phonetics, speech technology,
neurolinguistics and phonetics, etc., in order to explore the complexities of
speech sounds and their processing.

CIFE 2023 will be hosted by the Language and Cognition Lab and the Faculty of
Philology and Translation of the University of Vigo.

Plenary speakers include:
Pascal Belin (Institut de Neurosciences de la Timone, Aix-Marseille
University).
Yiya Chen (Leiden University Center for Linguistics).
Mark Gibson (Speech Laboratory, University of Navarra).


Call for Papers:

The organising committee invites researchers to send proposals on any aspect
related to the field of phonetics. 
In addition, four monographic sessions will be held, for which proposals are
also invited. The coordinators of a monographic session proposal must include
a list of up to five participants (including the coordinator).
Papers will last 20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes for discussion.
Abstracts (in English, and in Spanish or Galician) of up to 500 words should
be submitted by 15th September 2022 via Easychair, 
and should comprise an introduction, hypothesis, methodology, results and
conclusions. The references should conform to the APA style sheet (7th
edition).

Important dates:
- Conference dates: 21st-23rd June 2023.
- Deadline for sending proposals for communication/monographic session: from
10th May to 15th September 2022.
- The submission of proposals will be made via Easychair.
- Deadline for notification of acceptance of proposals: 15th December 2022.
