Description:

Within a collaboration between the Institute for Applied Linguistics of Eurac
Research [1] and the Department of Interpreting and Translation of the
University of Bologna [2], Eurac Research is planning to finance a fully-paid
three-year PhD grant in the program on “Translation, Interpreting, and
Intercultural Studies” starting in November 2022.

The innovative topic of the PhD research is machine translation within public
institutions in South Tyrol. We welcome candidates with good skills in Italian
and German as well as relevant backgrounds in (computational) linguistics,
specialized translation, natural language processing, and/or computing
science. We encourage students with programming skills and knowledge of
machine learning approaches to natural language processing.

Since the deadline is close, interested candidates should contact Prof.
Alberto Barrón-Cedeño [3] and Elena Chiocchetti [4] as soon as possible for
further details.

The student will have the chance to interact both with scholars at the
Institute for Applied Linguistics of Eurac Research and at the Department of
Interpreting and Translation of the University of Bologna. The PhD student
will be working at Eurac Research, Bolzano, Italy.
