Subject: Call for Volunteers: Translators, Translation Students and Language Learners (FR>EN/ES)

Looking for professional translators, translation students and advanced
learners of French to participate in a study on how people translate
metaphor-based idioms, how they learn to translate and how helpful Machine
Translation (tools like Google Translate) are for translating these
expressions. Volunteers will be asked to complete a 200-word translation and a
200-word post-editing task and to record their process. You can read more
about the study here: https://tinyurl.com/36r3zrc8

Continuing Professional Development workshops will be organized for
volunteers, focusing on their translation processes during the task. The
workshops will be based on work by Gough (2017) and will look at how and when
translators carry out research during translation. This will be an opportunity
to compare methods of translation, discover different resources and
exchange/network/discuss with peers. These workshops will be in small groups
and participants will receive a certificate of completion as evidence of CPD.

This study has been approved by the Swansea University College of Arts and
Humanities Ethics Committee.

If you are interested in participating or would like to find out more about
the study, please contact me at: sarah.daniel at univ-grenoble-alpes.fr
