Meeting Description:

12th edition of the International Conference on Armenian Linguistics (ICAL12)
at the National Assiciation for Armenian Studies and Research (NAASR) in
Belmont MA. from May 31 to June 2, 2023.

Call for Papers:

The twelfth International Conference on Armenian Linguistics (ICAL XII) will
be organized in the Boston Area, within the new facilities of the National
Association for Armenian Studies and Research (NAASR) from May 31st to June
2nd, 2023. This conference offers an opportunity to researchers working on
various aspects of the Armenian language to share their work and thoughts,
whatever their theoretical or methodological approach may be.

We thus welcome any proposal aiming to diffuse research on Armenian
linguistics for a 20 minute talk, followed by a 10 minute questions period.
Workshop proposals are also welcome. Proposals should not exceed 400 words
(not counting bibliographical references). The number of proposals per
researcher (as either main or co-author) is limited to two. We encourage the
community of researchers to submit proposals for talks concerning language
use, linguistic theory and variation, as well as questions of norm,
identities, language representations, etc.

The languages of the conférence shall be English, Armenian, French and
Russian, but proposals in other languages will be considered as well. The
talks should be contributions to research, especially in the field of
linguistics, but proposals from other related fields of the humanities and
social sciences, dealing with Armenians and their diaspora, so long as
language is involved, are also welcome. Each proposal shall be evaluated
anonymously by a scientific committee.

Abstracts should be submitted electronically no later than January 15, 2023 at
ical12.naasr at gmail.com.

Authors will be informed of the acceptance or refusal of their proposition no
later than February 1, 2023. Participants will later receive practical
information allowing them to plan their stay in the vicinity of the NAASR
Center.

We are closely monitoring the evolution of the border situation and the
security measures linked to the COVID-19 and we shall adjust accordingly. Our
main preoccupation is to allow for a maximum of participants coming from a
maximum of countries to be able to attend the Boston conference in person, but
we are not excluding the possibility that certain talks be delivered by
videoconference.
