Meeting Description:

The Collaborative Language Planning Project (CLPP) will host a two-day
conference on Indigenous Science and Language. It will be held on Thursday,
May 18 and Friday, May 19, 2023, at the University of Montana – Missoula.

What is CLPP?
CLPP was formed with aims to enhance communication among language activists,
language teachers, students, and researchers from Indigenous and
non-Indigenous communities in Montana. Its goals include enriching language
revitalization efforts among Indigenous communities, enhancing teachers and
activists’ training experiences, and encouraging collaboration in research. To
learn more about CLPP, visit the CLPP website
(umt.edu/collaborative-language-planning-project).

The CLPP conference on Indigenous Science and Language seeks to broaden
participation in CLPP activities to include language workers from outside of
Montana, as well as to broaden the scope of disciplines addressed in CLPP
activities.

The Call for Presentations will be posted on the website for the CLPP
Conference on Indigenous Language and Science later this month. Visit the CLPP
Conference website (in development).

CLPP is supported by National Science Foundation DLI-DEL and TCUP grants
BCS-1800617, BCS-1800820, BCS-2037470, and by the following collaborating
institutions: Aaniiih Nakoda College, Blackfeet Community College, Chief Dull
Knife College, Fort Peck Community College, Salish Kootenai College, Stone
