Linguistic Field(s): General Linguistics; Lexicography; Pragmatics; Semantics; Text/Corpus Linguistics

Call Deadline: 20-Nov-2022

Meeting Description:

Linguistics continues to arise various discussions and polemics concerning its
multiple levels of research which have internal or interdisciplinary
character, the latter being placed at the border of many areas of
investigation such as Neurolinguistics, Psycholinguistics, Sociolinguistics,
Cognitive Linguistics, Pragmatics, Semiotics, and others.

The scientific conference with international participation entitled ''From
monem to text and discourse: linguistic reconfigurations and didactic
practices'' is organised in memoriam Grigore Cincilei, doctor habilitate, full
university professor, founder of French Philology Chair of Moldova State
University, on the 95-th anniversary from his birth. The conference aims to
cover the paradigm of the following modern concerns. At its V-th edition, the
conference develops the topic of previous editions entitled ''Issues in
General and Romance Linguistics'', being a scientific opportunity to debate
actively and interactively, in presence and remotely, in plenary speeches and
in workshops, in Romanian and in foreign languages, the variety of intra- and
inter-linguistic issues, including updating the scale of research undertaken
by the late scholar.
Referring to the complex personality of the Bessarabian professor and
scientist, this edition aims to expand the range of theoretical subjects,
reflected and thoroughly studied within the valuable national and
international contributions of Grigore Cincilei, also due to the fact that
linguistics does not stop attacking various problems, related to its basic
dichotomies (language and speech, use and norm / norms, system /systems,
structure /structures, sign /signs and functions, etc.) within its current
compartments (phonematics, stylistics, semantics, grammar, etc.), with
specificities of Romance and Germanic languages and the possibilities of
teaching them.

In this regard, the Vth edition of the scientific conference tries to revive
the polemics regarding the general linguistics issues through structural,
functional, and generative-transformational prism, valorising praxeological
data and the role of discursive linguistics, textual linguistics, cognitive
linguistics, corpus linguistics, semiotics, and text pragmatics, etc.

Examined from such a perspective, the up-to-date issue of linguistics is
certainly a prior platform for debate and will launch much broader discussion
according to the announced topic of the conference, having in view a range of
scientific problems evoked by Professor Grigore Cincilei during the his
courses at the university and subjected to thorough research in the framework
of thorough and sustainable publications and which could be included in
several scientific workshops:

1. Linguistic-pragmatic and cognitive dimensions in intercultural
communication,
2. Current reconfigurations in the approach to text and textual typology,
3. Didactics of Romance and Germanic languages and cultures
