The roundtable ''Past, Present, and Future of Historical Linguistics''
will feature the presidents of three of the foremost learned societies
in the field of Historical Linguistics and members of the Faculty of
Linguistics of the University of Oxford.

Prof Marina Benedetti (Università per Stranieri di Siena), president
of the Società Italiana di Glottologia
Prof Susan Fitzmaurice (University of Sheffield), president of the
Philological Society
Prof Daniel Kölligan (Universität Würzburg), president of the
Indogermanische Gesellschaft

Chair: Dr Michele Bianconi (University of Oxford)

The event will be held in person (Ertegun House: 37a St Giles',
Oxford; places are limited), but it will be possible to join online as
well (participants will be emailed the link closer to the date).

This event will be part of ''Humanities Forward'', a larger conference
which will tackle some of the most important issues facing the
Humanities in the next twenty years. The conference will take place on
13th-14th of May 2023, and will bring together early-career scholars
in multiple fields as well as senior academics to address these
