Department: Office of Institutional Translation and Interpreting

Scope of Job: To oversee the daily operations of the translation and
interpreting office and provide specialized professional skills in planning
and executing complex translation and interpreting projects for the University
or external clients.

Description of Duties:
 - Responsible for managing all translating, editing, proof-reading
publications and documents from English to Spanish, including online materials
in order to meet deadlines and quality standards for the University.
 - Plans, directs and reviews all activities and operations of the translation
and interpreting office.
 - Coordinates complex translation projects involving additional translators
within the University or external agencies.
 - Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education: Master’s degree in Translation and Interpreting, Spanish
or other closely related degree from an accredited university.

Required Experience: Four (4) years of professional related experience,
including experience as a professional translator/interpreter/reviser and/ or
experience in Translation Project Management / Translation Agency. Must be
able to speak, read and write in English and Spanish fluently and be able to
edit and proof printed and online materials to the highest publishing
standards in Spanish.
