Meeting Description:

The Polish Cognitive Linguistics Association (PCLA) and the State

annual PCLA conference, Cognitive Linguistics in the year 2023, to be
held in Krosno, 13-15 September 2023.

Call for Papers:

Conference of the Polish Cognitive Linguistics Association
Krosno, Poland, 13-15 September, 2023

Leading theme: Applied Cognitive Linguistics: Thought and Action

For half a century of its history, cognitive linguistics has achieved
the status of a separate linguistic approach: it has a number of
schools with its leaders, it has developed theory and terminology,
there are numerous textbooks and university courses devoted to CL.
Cognitive Linguistics has become an international school of thinking
about the history and present of language, about the processes of
linguistic change, its figuration patterns. It systematically began to
expand its interest from the sentence to discourse and poetics,
towards multimodality, multimediality and language corpora, extending
its scope beyond English and Indo-European languages. The source of
its success has been the assimilation of historical achievements of
linguistic research and the attempt to create both a uniform and
polycentric approach.
In this edition of the conference we propose a focus on the
application of Cognitive Linguistic discoveries in the context of
language teaching and in the analysis of public discourse. Needless to
say abstracts on other topics related to CL are also welcome.
