Linguistic Field(s): Phonology

Call Deadline: 20-Feb-2023

Meeting Description:

The French Phonology Network (Réseau Français de Phonologie) brings together
researchers in France who place phonology at the heart of their work,
regardless of their theoretical models, methods, languages of study, and
research topics. Each year, the network organizes a conference open to
phonologists from all over the world to exchange on their work.

Call for Papers:

The French Phonology Network (Réseau Français de Phonologie) launches a call
for papers for its 2023 annual conference, the twentieth in its history. The
2023 edition will take place on 27-29 June in Lille (France). The conference
is sponsored by the research laboratory Savoirs, Textes, Langage (STL – UMR
8163 CNRS/Université de Lille), and its organizing committee includes staff
from the University of Lille and the University of Picardie Jules Verne.

Submissions anchored to any school or theoretical framework of phonology are
welcome. Topics of interest may relate to phonology in general or for specific
languages, along synchronic or diachronic dimensions. Topics may focus on, but
are not limited to, signal processing, perception, acquisition, diachrony,
dialectology, formalism, epistemology, descriptive phonology and all issues
which explicitly deal with phonology and its interfaces.

A special plenary session will be reserved for ‘junior researchers’, defined
as PhD students or post-doctoral researchers having defended their PhD less
than 5 years ago.

Presentations will be given in French or English. When possible, we encourage
people to speak in one of these languages, while providing a handout or slides
in the other. Presentations will be scheduled for 30-minute time slots (20-25
minutes for presentation and 5-10 minutes for discussion).

Keynote speakers
Seunghun J. Lee (International Christian University, Japan)
Tanja Kupisch (Universität Konstanz, Germany)
Joaquim Brandão de Carvalho (University of Paris 8)

Abstract submission
A poster session is planned. Authors will be asked to indicate whether, if
accepted, they would like to present as a poster or not. Authors will also
have to specify if they are eligible for the session dedicated to junior
researchers (see conditions above).

Abstracts can be written in French or English. They should not exceed two
pages in length (A4 pages) with 2,5 cm margins on all sides, Times New Roman,
12 pt, single-spaced, including references, tables and figures.

Anonymous PDF abstracts should be submitted on the RFP2023 site at this
address: https://rfp2023.sciencesconf.org/. YOU NEED TO LOG IN TO SUBMIT AN
ABSTRACT.

The submission must not reveal the identity of the author(s) in any way. (Note
that files uploaded to Sciencesconf are renamed by the system, but a PDF file
may contain hidden information about its author or creator.)

All abstracts will be reviewed by three referees.

Important dates
Deadline for submission: February 20th 2023
Notification of acceptance: end of March 2023
Conference: June 27-29 2023
