Description:
The CoLang Web Committee is accepting applications for a Fall 2023
Intern to support developing processes for collecting consent and
digital Intellectual property descriptions for the upcoming 2024
CoLang. We are seeking applicants with experience or interest in
open-source digital property, digital materials access, and
familiarity with the field of Indigenous language reclamation.

The CoLang Web Committee was established in 2020 to develop, manage,
and maintain the digital presence of the CoLang Institute. The
Committee is responsible for the public-facing website
www.colanginstitute.org, and the internal collection and organization
of organizing materials in the CoLang Repository. The Committee is
responsible to the CoLang Advisory Council via the Colang Advisory
Council’s Web Representative, and works closely with the Local
Organizing Committee.

The goal of the internship shall be to provide support in developing a
materials intake process for the online materials repository.

Internship Objectives:
 - Attend Web Committee Meetings as a liaison for the Local Organizing
Committee
 - Collaborate with Local Organizing Committee to accurately describe
Colang’s open-source digital publication interests and consent process
on calls for workshops and registration forms
 - Draft guidelines for developing open-source materials, and present
guidelines in an approachable way
 - Field questions and feedback on Colang’s open-source digital
publication interests
 - Collaborate with the Web Committee to develop a material intake
process

Reporting, compensation and credit:
 - This is a fully remote online internship in collaboration with
colleagues in EST, MST, and PST time zones.
 - Intern shall report to the CoLang Web Committee.
 - Intern shall receive $500 at the end of the three-month internship
period, and expected to devote at least 33 hours to internship tasks.

The CoLang Web Committee welcomes students interested in taking an
internship for school credit. Please reach out to your department to
see if this is possible. This internship is open to those legally
authorized to work in the United States. We are happy to work with any
interested applicant to support their authorization process.
