Call for Papers:

Special Issue of Studies in Second Language Acquisition, July 2025

Studies in Second Language Acquisition (SSLA) is now entertaining
proposals for the thematic issue of Volume 47:3, to be published in
July 2025. Thematic issues of SSLA focus on areas of current interest
and are an excellent venue to bring together in one issue numerous
approaches to a problem or methodology in the field of SLA. For
examples, see previous special volumes of SSLA.

A proposal should include (a) a rationale (up to two single-spaced
pages plus references) for the thematic issue and (b) tentative titles
and abstracts (250 - 300 words) from the authors of the manuscripts
that the editor intends or expects to include. Part (b) can also
include a list of possible topics and/or names of authors that may be
invited to contribute. Note that the articles in a special issue can
belong to any of the article types published in SSLA. These include:
Research article, Critical Commentary, Research Report, Replication
Studies, Methods Forum, and State-of-the-Scholarship Review.

Proposal submissions are due by email to ssla.journal at gmail.com by
January 14, 2024. Other manuscript and production deadlines are as
follows:

-January 12, 2024 Proposals due in SSLA office
-February 16, 2024 Final decision reached
-May 10, 2024 Submission of first-draft manuscripts to SSLA
via ScholarOne
-January 24, 2025 All final manuscripts due, submitted via
ScholarOne

Please feel free to distribute this announcement to interested
