Meeting Description:

This Meeting aims to bring together researchers who study syntactic
variation in Spanish from a formal perspective.

(Adger, Jamieson y Smith 2020).

encuentrodialectos at ucm.es. La inscripción es gratuita.

Formato

Call for Papers:

November 27th-28th, Complutense University of Madrid

Spanish dialects have been the subject of systematic research since
the beginning of the 20th century, especially at the lexical, phonetic
and morphological levels. The Meeting, which is held annually in
different Spanish universities, focuses on the description and
analysis of syntactic variation in European and American Spanish from
the perspective of formal linguistics.

Both the theory of Principles and Parameters, either in terms of
macroparameters (Baker 1997) or microparameters (Kayne 2000), as well
as the latest proposals of the minimalist theory (Chomsky 2020), offer
tools that allow investigating syntactic variation in a rigorous way,
including variation related to social dimensions (Adger, Jamieson &
Smith 2020).

Abstract Submission

We invite submissions for 40 (30 + 10) minutes long oral
presentations. Submissions should be sent by attachment, as anonymous
PDFs, to the following e-mail address: encuentrodialectos at ucm.es. The
