Description:

The School of Languages and Linguistics at the University of Melbourne
seeks a Lecturer to contribute to teaching at undergraduate, honours,
and postgraduate levels and undertake research in Linguistics. The
role involves coordinating subjects, conducting lectures and
tutorials, supervising students, and undertaking related
administration. The ideal candidate will have a record of high-quality
linguistic research, teaching experience, and expertise in the field.

Responsibilities include:
 - Preparation and delivery of lectures, tutorials and seminars as
appropriate to the School’s requirements and in line with Faculty of
Arts minimum thresholds for teaching satisfaction
 - High quality publications arising from scholarship and research in
line with the Faculty of Arts minimum expectations
 - Submission of grant applications to support research activities in
line with the Faculty of Arts minimum expectations
 - Active engagement in service, leadership and coordination roles in
the discipline, School and Faculty demonstrating respectful, inclusive
behaviours at all times and building trust amongst colleagues

About You:
You will possess excellent teaching skills and the ability to
contribute to course/subject development, along with strong

Additionally, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to the

You will also have:
 - A completed PhD in Linguistics
 - Ability to supervise Honours and Research Higher Degree students
 - Ability to develop research synergies aligning with and enhancing
current research strengths of the School
 - To ensure the University continues to provide a safe environment
for everyone, this position requires the incumbent to hold a current
and valid Working with Children Check.
