Meeting Description:

We are pleased to announce that the 45th ICAME conference will take
place in Vigo (Spain) on 18-22 June 2024, organised by members of the
Language Variation and Textual Categorisation (LVTC) research group.

The conference theme is “Interlocking Corpora and Register(s):
Diversity and Innovation”. We invite abstracts on any topic
particularly related to the conference theme, and we will also
consider abstracts on other corpus-based approaches to English. The
call for abstracts will open in early September 2023 and will close on
1 December 2023.

The academic programme will consist of full papers, work-in-progress
reports, software demonstrations, poster sessions and invited plenary
talks. There will also be a call for pre-conference workshops. The
social programme will include a welcome evening reception, a boat trip
and the gala dinner.

The following keynote speakers have confirmed their participation:
- Lieselotte Anderwald (Kiel University)
- Hendrik De Smet (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven)
- Rob Drummond (Manchester Metropolitan University)
- Tove Larsson (Northern Arizona University)

The ICAME45 Conference Organising Committee

Call for Papers:

Abstracts should be 400-500 words (excl. references) and should
clearly state research question(s), approach, data, method, and
(expected) results. Submission should be anonymous and via EasyAbs.
Authors may submit a maximum of two abstracts if at least one paper is
co-authored.

- Full paper: 20+10 mins discussion
- Short paper/Work-in-progress report: 10+5 mins discussion
- Software demonstration: 20+10 mins discussion
- Poster presenters will briefly (c.5 mins) introduce their posters
during a special session.

Pre-conference workshops will be held on Tuesday 18 June 2024. Please
send your proposal to the organisers at (icame45 at uvigo.es) by 15
November 2023. This should contain the title of the workshop, name and
contact details of the organisers and of the proposed participants,
and a short description of the themes to be discussed (400-700 words,
excl. references). Workshop conveners will be responsible for putting
the individual abstracts together before 15 January 2024.
