Description:

The Department of Romance Languages and Literature at the Goethe
University of Frankfurt invites applicants for a doctoral position
(50%, E 13 TV-G-U) to be filled starting from October, 1st 2023. The
position is planned for 3 years with the possibility of a two-year
extension. The doctoral work will be supervised by Prof. Dr. Jacopo
Torregrossa (Multilingualism and Second Language Acquisition).

The successful candidate will teach a course per semester (2 hours per
week) in the field of Italian or Spanish Linguistics and conduct
research in the field of multilingual language acquisition. Ideally,
the candidate has an interest in the effects of different educational
settings on multilingual children’s cognitive and linguistic
development. The position will also be associated with some
administrative duties.

Applicants should hold a degree in Linguistics, ideally with a focus
on first, second, or multilingual language acquisition or Educational
Linguistics. Knowledge of English and Spanish and/or Italian is
required. Ideally, the candidate should have knowledge of German and
be willing to learn German throughout the years.
