Description:

The Department of Linguistics at the University of Geneva invites applications
for a position in syntax starting February 1, 2024 (or to be negotiated). This
position is a full-time Associate or Full Professor position with a teaching
load of six hours per week. Teaching will primarily focus on courses in
theoretical syntax at all levels, but will also include courses in related
fields such as language acquisition, morphology, phonology or semantics, for
example. 

The successful candidate will be expected to pursue research in the field of
theoretical syntax, possibly in interaction with related subfields, and
supervise PhD and MA candidates. They will also carry out standard
administrative duties in accordance with the needs of the Department and the
University.

Applicants must have a PhD in linguistics. They must have experience in
teaching and in supervising research, and they are expected to have a
high-quality publication record. Application materials can be in English. The
successful candidate is expected to have some basic knowledge of French and be
able to teach in French within two years after employment.
