Subject: Fund Drive: Staff Letter


This is my last year at the Linguist List, and so my last Fund Drive.
As a Ph.D. student in general linguistics at IU, it has been my
privilege to work for the Linguist List for four years. Not only has
my experience working as the Linguist List systems administrator
proved invaluable, but also the support I have received from the List
has been essential to my study of Linguistics. We can't pursue our
degrees without financial support, and I am incredibly grateful to the
Linguist List for making me a part of their team. I also greatly
appreciate all of your donations, which keep the Linguist List running
and enable all of our editors and developers to study Linguistics.

Thank you all for reading our mail, submitting your news and taking
part in our community. We would be nothing without our readers and
donors. If you have donated to us, thank you again. If you haven't
yet, thank you still, and please consider making a contribution if you
can!

I first became aware of the Linguist List as a sophomore linguistics
student but did not realize I would have the chance to work here. Now,
I will turn from a Linguist List editor to a Linguist List reader.
I'll especially be watching the Jobs topic! Next year, I will be
making, not receiving, donations to the Linguist List fund drive. I
hope you will all join me in making a donation to this important
