Meeting Description:

The International Workshop on Syntactic Cartography (IWSC) is a
biannual conference initiated in 2015, which has been co-organized and
supported financially by the International Association of Syntactic
Cartographic Studies (IAOSCS) (Macao) and the Department of
Linguistics, Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU). It aims
at bringing together linguists and scientists from other relevant
fields who are interested in investigating the "maps" of syntactic
structures.

During the 2nd IWSC (2017), the organizing committee decided to select
topics for its subsequent conferences alphabetically. Consequently,
the main topics for the 3rd IWSC (2019) were A-based and then the 4th
IWSC (2021) focused predominantly on B-initiated terms.

Following the same tradition, the key topics of the 5th IWSC will be
C-initiated, including but not limited to the following recommended by
the organizing committee members: C/case (and agree); causative; child
language acquisition; Cinque hierarchy; clitics; complementizer;
criteria features and the left periphery; crosslinguistic variation,
etc.

2nd Call for Papers:

All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to
another conference or journal.

1. Abstracts are limited to one page (using 1-inch margins on all
sides), including examples and (selected) references.

2. Abstracts must be written in English or in Chinese. Please use
