The dean of the Faculty of Science, Humanities and Education announces
an open competition for the following academic position: Assistant
Lecturer, Lecturer, or Assistant Professor for the English Department

Place of work: English Department
Faculty of Science, Humanities and Education
Technical University of Liberec
Number of positions: 1
Workload: 100% (40 hours/week)
Salary: payment category A1, A2 or A3, in accordance with the
university’s internal salary regulations and the academic title(s) and
degrees held at the time of application, plus personal premium
(dependent on regular assessment of work performance)
Employment contract: fixed-term, until August 31, 2026, with possible
extensions
Start of employment: September 2023 (negotiable)

What will your job entail?
 - Teaching courses in English as foreign language and/or academic
writing
 - Further teaching: an opportunity to teach other subject based on
the applicant’s academic profile
 - Active research and regular publications in the field
 - Continuous self-education

We require:
 - Be a native speaker of English (speaker of English as 1st
language),
 - University education in one of the fields listed below; for the
position of lecturer, being enrolled in a doctoral study program at
the time of application; for the position of assistant professor,
holding a doctoral degree (ISCED 8, e.g. Ph.D., CSc., Dr., Dr.phil.)
 - Expertise in teaching English as a foreign language, teaching
English as a second language, applied linguistics, English
linguistics, the English language, English philology, general
linguistics, translation studies, Anglophone studies, English Studies,
American Studies, or a similar discipline
 - Work experience in the field
 - Publications in the field of English Studies or a related
discipline
 - Interest in teaching, teaching skills
 - Creativity and an ability to work in teams
 - Independence, flexibility and reliability
