Subject: Recruit Native Chinese Speakers for an Online Survey

You are invited to participate in an online survey project titled
"Understanding the Relationship between Interlanguage Pragmatic
Learning Strategies and Pragmatic Competence in Chinese" conducted by
Dr. Jing JIN (The Education University of Hong Kong).

The research aims to investigate the relationship between the

non-Chinese-native learners of Chinese. In the present study, you will
take (1) a computer-based oral discourse completion task, (2) a
computer-based pragmatic judgement task, (3) a questionnaire survey.
The whole survey will take around 20 minutes.

Your participation in the project is voluntary. You have every right
to withdraw from the study at any time without negative consequences.
Your identifying information will be removed from the data file and
stored separately, with the link between identifying information and
data made through codes only. Entered data will be stored on a
password-protected computer, while original, anonymized hard copies of
the questionnaires will be stored in a locked office for five years.
All data collected from the questionnaire will be used for the purpose
of research. Relevant research outputs will be published in the form
of journal papers, conference presentations, etc. If you would like to
obtain more information about this study, please contact Dr. JIN Jing
at the E-mail address jjin at eduhk.hk.
