Meeting Description:

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Arizona
will hold the Thirty-Third Annual Graduate and Professional Symposium
in Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian Literature, Language and Culture on
March 22nd and 23rd, 2024. This nationally recognized symposium is a
conference planned, organized, and directed by students from both our
Linguistics and our Literature & Cultural Studies programs, who invite
the global academic community for an event that brings two important
references in the fields of Hispanic Linguistics and Literature and
Cultural Studies.  While primarily composed of presentations from
graduate student, we also have an undergraduate session, and encourage
submissions from students at any point of their program.  This event
will be hybrid, with in-person keynote speakers and Zoom transmission
for attendees.

Call for Papers:

Please submit your abstract to spanport-symposium at arizona.edu, and
include the following information in the body of the email:

1.  Author name(s)
2.  Contact information (email and phone number)
3.  Academic affiliation (institution and graduate or undergraduate)
4.  Title of presentation
5.  Format (presentation, project-in-progress, panel)
6.  Need of audiovisual equipment

Presentations may be delivered in English, Spanish, or Portuguese, and
will be allotted 15 minutes, with 10 minutes for Q&A and feedback.
Projects-in-progress presentations, a format for presenters with
research in a preliminary stage, will be allotted 10 minutes, with 15
minutes for Q&A and feedback.

For presentations and projects-in-progress, abstract should be limited
to 300 words.  For panel proposals, this should be a group of 3-5
presenters, and the proposal should be limited to a 100-word abstract
from each panel member.
