Meeting Description:

On 19, 20, and 21 June 2024, the Faculty of Philology of the
University of Salamanca will host the VII edition of the International
Conference on Clinical Linguistics (CILC2024), a unique academic event
in Spain, and one of the few events of similar thematic orientation at
both European and international levels.

Launched in 2006, this triennial Conference will be held in Salamanca
after six previous editions in the following Spanish universities:
•    Universitat de València (2006)
• Universidad Autómona de Madrid (2009)
•    Universidad de Málaga (2012)
•    Universitat de Barcelona (2015)
•    Universidad de Cádiz (2018)
• Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (2021, moved to 2022
because of the lockdown).

 Research in Clinical Linguistics is inherently interdisciplinary.
Taking up the baton from previous editions, CICL2024 aims to bring
together researchers working in any field of speech, language, or
communication disorders or pathologies from the perspective of
linguistic theory.

Furthermore, CILC2024 will place special emphasis on the following
main themes:

•   contributions of Clinical Linguistics to linguistic theory;
• patient-doctor interaction, and communication about health and
disease;
• Clinical Linguistics and artificial intelligence.

In this way, CILC2024 aims to create a scientific forum for studies on
speech, language, and communication disorders in their broadest sense,
as well as for studies on these three emerging axes.
