Description:

The Yale Cognitive Science Program invites applications for a
tenure-track, open-rank faculty appointment in the area of cognitive
science of language beginning July 1, 2024. The candidate will be
appointed to the interdisciplinary Program in Cognitive Science and
will also have an academic appointment in one of the contributing
departments at Yale (such as Linguistics, Philosophy, Psychology, and
Computer Science).  The successful candidate will have a scholarly
record that contributes to and actively engages with multiple
disciplines in the cognitive science of language, and will be expected
to teach courses in this area. The appointed scholar will teach
introductory and advanced courses at the undergraduate and graduate
levels and will advise student research across multiple departments.
We particularly welcome applications from early career scholars,
though the position is open-rank.

Review of applications will begin on November 6th, 2023, and
applications should arrive by that date for maximal consideration.

Qualifications
Eligible applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree at the time
of hire.

 - Research Statement: Statement outlining the candidate's main
research accomplishments and future research plans, with particular
emphasis on how the past and future work contributes to multiple
disciplines in the cognitive sciences (max 2 pages)
 - Teaching statement: Evidence of teaching and mentoring excellence
(e.g., teaching evaluations, syllabi)
 - Three publications: Three representative pieces of research; other
publications should be easily accessible online.
 - Three confidential recommendations (this requirement is for the
Assistant Professor level only)
