Subject: Seeking language educators for research study

Dr. Julia Goetze (University of Wisconsin-Madison) is seeking
participants for a research study on foreign language teacher
emotions, beliefs, and behaviors in the language classroom. The study
consists of a series of 3 surveys, administered online via Qualtrics
over the course of 6 weeks. The first survey asks language instructors
to self-rate some of their psychological traits, such as their
perceived ability to regulate their emotions in the classroom and
their level of confidence in the teacher role. Additionally, the first
survey presents instructors with three different classroom scenarios
and asks them (1) to evaluate these scenarios through an instructor
lens, (2) to report the emotions they think they would experience in
the scenarios, and (3) to describe the pedagogical behaviors they
would use in the scenarios. The second and third survey exclusively
present classroom scenarios and ask instructors to complete the same 3
scenario-related tasks as on the first survey. The second and third
survey will be administered 3 weeks apart and study participants will
receive email reminders.

If you are interested in participating, please use the following link
to access the first online survey:
https://uwmadison.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_8HvajOKe52eiFq6. The
survey will remain open from October 13 through November 10, 2023.

You will be entered into a raffle for one of five $100 Amazon gift
cards, upon completion of all three surveys of the study.

In case you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to
contact Dr. Goetze at julia.goetze at wisc.edu.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration to support this
project. Please feel free to distribute this recruitment material in
your own professional language educator network.
