Call Deadline: 10-Nov-2023

Meeting Description:

We expect papers presenting original and unpublished research,
descriptions of accomplished or in-progress work in all areas of
natural language processing, digital humanities, creation of resources
and instruments to process language in both textual and spoken form.
We call for contributions that range from theoretical, empirical and
applied linguistics to computational models of language, research
describing morphological, syntactic, semantic and discourse
structures, pragmatic usage, multi-word expressions, the formation and
evolution of languages, technologies to decipher and interpret old
variants of languages, etc. The studies can be related to any
language, but we encourage research evidencing specific aspects of the
Romanian language or of any of its dialects and idioms. Case studies,
demos of applications and review papers are also most welcome.

Call for Papers:

The 18th edition of the
International Conference on Linguistic Resources and Tools for Natural
Language Processing
**ConsILR-2023**
that will take place between 11 and 13 December 2023 at Transilvania
University of Brașov, Romania, and online
jointly organised with the meeting of Romanian Academy’s
Informatization Commission for the Romanian Language

We invite you to submit papers presenting original and unpublished
research, descriptions of accomplished or in-progress work in all
areas of natural language processing, digital humanities, creation of
resources and instruments to process language in both textual and
spoken form. We call for contributions that range from theoretical,

language, but we encourage research evidencing specific aspects of the
Romanian language or of any of its dialects and idioms. Case studies,
demos of applications and review papers are also most welcome.

The conference is addressed to computer scientists and linguists, from
PhD students to senior researchers, working on all areas of language
modelling and processing, including lexicographers and creators of any
forms of digital resources. We expect all range of approaches, from
theoretical to symbolic, statistical and neural. Contributions may
also describe new linguistic resources, such as speech and text
corpora, bi- and multi-modal corpora, dictionaries in electronic form,
treebanks, language models, pre-trained deep learning models
transferable to other areas, vectorial models, collections of
annotated documents, etc.

The papers for which we will have the consent of the authors will also
be made available on the Conference website. As in previous years, all
papers accepted will be published in a volume. The ConsILR Proceedings
of the editions 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2020 have already been indexed
by Clarivate Analytics (former ISI Thomson). The proceedings of the
last two editions, 2021 and 2022, were also sent for indexing; the
same will be done for the current edition. The volume will be
published by the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University Publishing House in
Iași.

The organizers of the event are:
- University Transilvania of Brașov with the Department of Mathematics
and Informatics,
- University “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” of Iași with the Faculty of
Computer Science,

Science and Philology) and Bucharest (Research Institute for
Artificial Intelligence ”Mihai Drăgănescu”)
- Romanian Association of Computational Linguistics
- Academy of Technical Sciences of Romania.

On behalf of the conference organizers,
Dan Cristea and Dan Tufiș
