Description:

The Department of Linguistics at the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign invites applications for a full-time, Visiting
Assistant Professor in psycholinguistics. The position is for the
Spring 2024 semester, with the possibility of renewal for the
2024-2025 academic year. The successful candidate should be able to
teach undergraduate and introductory graduate courses in
psycholinguistics. Applicants are expected to have an active research
agenda, mentor students, and engage in service activities appropriate
to academic rank.

We welcome applicants with expertise in areas such as (but not limited
to): ERP methods; sentence processing; language acquisition.

Target starting date is January 1, 2024. Salary is commensurate with
qualifications and experience. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track
position, renewable yearly subject to enrollments, funding, and
positive performance evaluations. A Ph.D. in hand or ABD status in
Linguistics or related area, with specialization in psycholinguistics,
is required by the appointment start date. Candidates who do not yet
have a Ph.D. in hand at the time of appointment may be appointed at
the rank of Instructor. After the candidate obtains the Ph.D., the
appointment will be changed to Visiting Assistant Professor.
