An exciting opportunity for a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in
Linguistics to focus their efforts on growing their profile in
teaching, research, service and engagement. This role also provides
opportunities to coordinate or lead the activities of other staff and
contribute to the effective supervision of honours and higher degree
by research students.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
 - Contribute to the development of new programs and course material
in the Linguistics major, (with particular focus on the program’s
Phonetics and Phonology offerings) by consulting with program advisors
and stakeholders, ensuring courses are engaging, relevant and
contemporary.
 - Teach across different settings and actively contribute towards
educational practice and innovative curriculum design including online
learning and alternative teaching methods.
 - Progress an exciting research program to achieve national and
international recognition and impact in Linguistics and related
disciplines.
 - Contribute to the supervision of Honours and Higher Degree by
Research students
 - Actively develop partnerships by fostering relationships with
colleagues, industry, government departments, professional bodies and
the wider community.

This is a teaching and research position.

This is a full-time (100%), continuing position at Academic Level B or
C.

At Academic Level B, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in
the range AUD$104,579 - $124,187, plus a generous super allowance of
up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to AUD$122,358 - $145,299
annually.

At Academic Level C, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in
the range AUD$128,109 - $147,717, plus a generous super allowance of
up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to AUD$149,888 - $172,830
annually.

Applicants should possess a PhD in Linguistics, or closely related
field. Specialisation in phonetics and phonology is highly desirable.
Specialisations in sociolinguistics, documentation and descriptive
linguistics and/or Australian Indigenous languages are also desirable.
