Description:

The Department of Linguistics at McGill University invites
applications for a tenure-track position in phonology at the rank of
Assistant Professor, effective August 1, 2024. Secondary
specializations in one or more of the following areas will be
considered an asset: computational linguistics, fieldwork, indigenous
languages, laboratory phonology, language acquisition, language
variation and change, morphology, phonetics, psycholinguistics, and/or
under documented languages.

General qualifications are a PhD in linguistics, a strong background
in linguistic theory, and demonstrated excellence in research and
teaching in the area(s) of specialization. Duties will include
undergraduate and graduate teaching in phonology and other areas,
graduate research guidance and administrative responsibilities.

Applications should include a cover letter, CV, research statement,
teaching statement, teaching evaluations (if available), and two
writing samples. All materials must be submitted electronically using

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
