Meeting Description:

“To Mix or not to Mix Languages in Preschool Education. Practitioners'
Voices Around the World”

Language teaching at an early age (Pre-primary education) is a global
reality, and one issue that generates debate among teachers is how to
deal with the introduction of several languages simultaneously. So,
how many languages should be introduced simultaneously? Should
teachers include more than one language at the same time? How should
the presence of more than one language in the classroom be addressed?
These questions will be the starting point for teachers from different
contexts and parts of the world to share their experiences and debate
about different multilingual models and strategies at preschool.

INVITED SPEAKERS:

Angela Álvarez-Cofiño (EFL preschool coordinator, Parque Infantil
Public School, Asturias, Spain).

Sara Arranz (The assistant principal of Stevens and Military Road
Early Learning Centers, Washington DC Public Schools, United States).

Mihael Farjun (The principal of the bilingual preschool "Hand in
Hand", Haifa, Israel).

Emmanuel Ceballos (Coordinator of Primary Education. Dutch School of
Querétaro, Mexico).

Each teacher will talk for 10 mins about their experiences before
opening a space to debate these questions together.
