Meeting Description:

Are you or your students interested in the intersection of AI and
translation? If so, join us on Monday, APRIL 15th, at the free "Points
of View on Translation 2024" conference, co-organised by the Chair for
Translation Studies, Jagiellonian University and the European
Commission.

This time we will discuss the latest AI-powered translation
advancements and the role of technology in translation and in the
language service industry. English will be the main language of this
event (available in hybrid mode).

Aim of the event
The aim of ”Points of View on Translation” conferences is to engage
the local academic and professional community, including students,
lecturers, translation companies, and linguists. This year's one-day
event will focus on the theme "Potential and Challenges of Modern
Language Technologies." Our aim is to gather eminent researchers and
translation industry professionals to explore the opportunities and
obstacles presented by cutting-edge technological solutions,
particularly the increased automation of translation workflows and the
utilisation of neural machine translation (NMT) engines and AI tools
(such as LLMs). The event is co-organised by the Chair for Translation
Studies, Jagiellonian University, and Directorate-General for
Translation, European Commission as a Translating Europe Workshop.
