Subject: An Update from the WebDev Team


Greetings, linguists!

I come to you bearing another update about the doing of the WebDev
team in the last year.

In my last update, I described some of the things we added (various
EasyAbs features). Today I wish to describe some of the things we've
removed. One year ago, the WebDev team (all 2 of us) were maintaining
17 websites and 10 databases across 5 different servers. Recognizing
that this was far too much for such a small team, we set about pruning
old projects in the interest of being able to better concentrate on
the actually important work (and also pay for fewer servers).

A year later, I am pleased to announce that we have successfully
reduced our operations to 4 websites and 3 databases running on only a
single server. That is to say, we've eliminated about 3/4 of the
things distracting us from our primary mission of providing you all
with The LINGUIST List and EasyAbs.
