Hello Linguist List!

Welcome back to the challenge update, we have quite the stir-up on the
leaderboard to go over so let’s get started. With all of your wildly
gracious donations, we have jumped to $13,800! We love supporting your
conferences and the linguistics work being done globally, so get your
donations in soon!

Let’s take a look at the leaderboards!

Our Subfield Challenge is quite a tight race! Since our last update,
Syntax has increased the lead to $1,880, after Phonology tried to make
a run to regain the lead. Our tie for third place is no longer!
Pragmatics has pushed into the top 3 spot with $1,047, followed by
Semantics and Sociolinguistics nearly tied for fourth, with only a $30
separation.  Make sure you get your donations in so your area of
research gets the representation it deserves!

In our University Challenge, Wayne State University has fallen to
second place, with Stanford University taking first place at $710! The
University Challenge illuminates the wide academic support we have
across the globe. Taking a look at the standings, there are a
multitude of ties that could be broken by just $1! Find your
University and don’t let them lose, especially by $1!

In our Country Challenge, the United States maintains a strong lead of
$5,600, followed by Germany, who surpassed Spain, with $825. Also,
Canada lept over Spain into third place with $417. Joining the
leaderboard, we see Hong Kong, India and Serbia. Make sure that your
country gets recognized for its contributions and get your donations
in now!

The Linguist List Fundrive is over halfway finished, but we are not to
our goal yet. It is your gracious support, even of $1, that makes a
difference here at Linguist List.
