During this year's Fund Drive, we want to take a moment to reflect on
the impact that the LINGUIST List has had on its staff--past and
present. Today, we're spotlighting a former LINGUIST List staff
member, Dr. Andrew Lamont.

Andrew reflects:

Dear fellow subscribers:

Long time, no see -- it's been six years since I've posted on this
list! I was an editor at LINGUIST List from 2013 to 2016, having moved
with them from Ypsilanti to Bloomington. I left to pursue a PhD at
UMass Amherst and am now a lecturer at University College London.

Like my LINGUIST List tote bag that I still carry whenever I go
shopping, LINGUIST List has stayed with me. I'm still subscribed to
conferences and books (in fact I owe them a review...) and I've kept a
lot of great friends that I met at the office.

Take it from a former editor – don't take the List for granted. If it
weren't for the hard work of the staff who balance the administrative
duties of the entire field with their coursework, we wouldn't have
this tremendous resource.

Join me in making a donation to support the LINGUIST List, however
small.

Andrew
