The Department of English at American University of Sharjah seeks
applicants for several full-time permanent positions at the Assistant
Professor (PhD-qualified) or Instructor (MA-qualified) rank in Writing
Studies. Candidates should hold qualifications in rhetoric and
composition, applied linguistics, English studies, English for
Academic Purposes (EAP), TESOL, or a closely related field, and a
specialization in academic writing.

We seek candidates who can contribute in innovative ways to the
department’s writing program, which includes a multiple course
progression in academic writing and advanced research writing, as well
as technical writing and creative writing courses. Candidates should
have a strong record of excellence in teaching and developing academic
literacy, evidence of scholarship in their field and a demonstrated
commitment to productive institutional service.

Required Qualifications:
 - PhD or MA in relevant field
 - Demonstrated experience and excellence in undergraduate teaching

Preferred Qualifications:
 - PhD in relevant field

 - Demonstrated potential for strong research and publication in
relevant fields
 - Demonstrated commitment to writing studies pedagogies and
curriculum development
 - Overseas teaching experience
 - Experience with writing program administration

American University of Sharjah is a not-for-profit, independent,

Wilmington, DE 19801 USA) since June 2004.
