Meeting Description:

First held in 1883, the MLA convention is an annual gathering of
teachers and scholars in the field of language and literature studies.
The convention enables members of the profession to share their ideas
and research with colleagues from other universities and colleges, as
well as with those in related fields and professions.

The Romance Linguistics Forum is a scholarly-interest forum of the
MLA, holding an annual panel at the convention focused on theoretical
and applied research in the field of Romance linguistics.

Call for Papers:

The Romance Linguistics Forum of the Modern Language Association
welcomes a wide range of participants and approaches to Romance
Linguistics to its panel in the 2025 MLA Convention. We invite
abstracts exploring any area of Romance Linguistics, especially those
involving a theoretical approach to visibility, such as theoretical
studies of lesser-known Romance languages and varieties and of
features of any Romance variety that are un(der)-documented. Although
preference will be given to papers addressing more than one Romance
variety, all abstracts will be considered.

Abstracts should be submitted in .pdf or .docx format, not exceeding 1
page (300-500 words), with a second page reserved for examples, tables
and references. Include the presenter’s name, affiliation, and contact
information in the body of the e-mail.

Please submit your abstract to: allombart at cpp.edu by March 1, 2024.
(Please, write "MLA abstract" in the email subject).

Acceptance notifications will be sent by April 1, 2024.
