Meeting Description:

The Department of Languages and Literature (School of Humanities and
Social Sciences) of the University of Nicosia is pleased to announce
the Advances in Second/Foreign Language Acquisition (ASeFoLA 2024)
conference for the third consecutive year. ASeFoLA 2024 will take
place online on 17-19 May 2024.

ASeFoLA aims to bring together researchers from around the world who
are working to better understand the second/foreign language
acquisition process. Contributions may concentrate on
mono-/bi-/multilingual  speakers who learn or acquire an additional
language in mono-/bi-/multilingual contexts.

We encourage submissions that discuss topics relevant to
second/foreign language acquisition and employ a variety of research
techniques from diverse fields including but not limited to:

-Theoretical and Applied linguistics
-Psycholinguistics
-Sociolinguistics
-Computational linguistics
-Neurolinguistics
-Cognitive linguistics
-Educational linguistics
-Speech-language pathology
-Teaching English as a second language (TESOL)
-Teaching Greek as a second language (TGSOL) [NEW]

Abstracts of up to 300 words (excluding references, tables, and
figures) must be written in English except those submitted in the
thematic area of TGSOL which can also be in Greek. Abstracts must be
anonymous. Each author can submit up to two abstracts (one individual
and one joint) through EasyAbs. Please note that your abstract may be
accepted as a poster. Presentations should last 20 minutes (15 minutes
for the presentation and 5 minutes for discussion). There are no fees
for authors and attendees.

Submission deadline: 29 February 2024
Notification of acceptance/rejection: 5 April 2024
Conference: 17-19 May 2024 (online)
