Meeting Description:

The Workshop in General Linguistics (WiGL) is an annual conference put
on by the Linguistics Student Organization at the University of
Wisconsin-Madison. WiGL is a conference run by students for students
and is a forum for all students from UW-Madison and other institutions
to present and share their research. WiGL includes presentations and
posters from undergraduate, graduate, and recently graduated students
on any linguistics-related topic.

2nd Call for Papers:

18th Annual Workshop in General Linguistics (WiGL 18)

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Linguistics Student Organization
(LSO) invites submissions for papers to be presented at the 18th
Annual Workshop in General Linguistics (WiGL 18), to be held in-person
Friday and Saturday, April 12-13, 2024 at the University of
Wisconsin-Madison. The keynote speakers for the workshop are
professors Julia Goetze and Robert Hawkins.

WiGL is a conference run by students for students and is a forum for
all students from UW-Madison and other institutions to present and
share their research. We invite abstracts from undergraduate,
graduate, and recently graduated students for 30-minute presentations
(20 minutes + 10 minutes for questions) and posters on any
linguistics-related topic.

Abstracts should be at most 500 words, not including data, graphics,
or references, and should not include the author’s name or
affiliation. Please submit abstracts in pdf format. Abstracts will be
accepted until 20 January 2024 at 11:59PM CST, and decisions will be
announced in mid February. Please submit abstracts via this Google
