Description:

The Department of Linguistics at the University of Geneva invites
applications for a position in experimental linguistics starting
August 1st 2024 (or to be negotiated). The successful candidate is
expected to implement and supervise the development of a research and
training program in how to use experimental methods to test hypotheses
in theoretical linguistics, psycholinguistics, acquisition or
neurolinguistics. Their research areas can be in any linguistic
subfield(s) as long as they complement and strengthen the department’s
existing research expertise.

The position of "Maître d’enseignement et de recherche" (senior
lecturer) is a tenured full-time research and teaching position with a
teaching load of 6 hours per week. The successful candidate is
expected to initiate and lead research, supervise PhD and MA
candidates, participate in teaching and assessment at all levels, and
to carry out administrative duties in accordance with the needs of the
Department. Teaching will primarily focus on experimental methods in
linguistics, but will also include introductory and advanced courses
in some linguistic subfields.

Applicants must have a PhD in linguistics. They must have experience
in teaching in the relevant domains, and they are expected to have a
high-quality publication record. An advanced level of French is
required and job talks will be given in French.

The salary is between CHF 125'000 and CHF 170,000 depending on
experience.
