Subject: Obituary for Paige Goulding (1993 - 2014)

It is with great sadness that we share that Paige Goulding, former
graduate assistant and developer at the LINGUIST List, passed away on
January 9, 2024, at the age of 30.

Paige was born March 13, 1993 in Langhorne, PA, and from an early age
showed a great thirst for knowledge and new experiences. She studied
Linguistics, Writing, and Latin American studies at the University of
Pittsburgh, receiving her BA in 2015. She continued on to graduate
studies in Computational Linguistics, earning in an MS from Indiana
University in 2018. During her time at IU, she was instrumental in
developing the LINGUIST List’s new website, and became a great friend
to the other students and employees in the LINGUIST List family.

After school, Paige went on to work as a computational linguist in the
fields of educational technology and legal discovery, most recently at
Lighthouse Document Technologies. Her passion for language and skill
in computer science made her a key asset to the teams she worked with.

Paige also had a passion for creative writing and world-building; she
was especially an avid fan of Dungeons and Dragons and other tabletop
games. She served as dungeon master for many long-running campaigns,
creating fantastic adventures for friends to play. She loved travel,
live music, and animals, especially her beloved cat named D.

Throughout her life, Paige was known as someone who was fiercely loyal
to family and friends, with a strong sense of social justice and a
persistent drive to make the world better. She was remarkably kind,
compassionate, witty and spirited, and touched the lives of everyone
she met. She will be terribly missed by the many, many people who love
her.
