Description:

Applications are invited for VCRS and DfE funded PhD studentships in
Linguistics at Ulster University. We welcome research proposals for
the following PhD project areas:
 - Syntax (Contact: Professor Raffaella Folli)
 - Language acquisition (Contact: Dr Juliana Gerard)
 - Multilingualism (Contact: Dr Christina Sevdali)
 - Semantics, syntax, and dialects of English (Contact: Dr Richard
Stockwell)
 - Language disorders (Contact: Dr Victoria Singer)
 - Discourse and Social Interaction (Contact: Dr Catrin Rhys)

Students are invited to contact potential supervisors to discuss the
proposed focus of the study.

All applicants should hold, or expect to obtain, a first or upper
second class honours degree in a subject relevant to the proposed area
of study. Applications will be considered on a competitive basis with
regard to the candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience and
interests.

Other funding:
 - Vice Chancellors Research Scholarships (VCRS)
The scholarships will cover tuition fees and a maintenance award of
not less than £19,000 per annum for three years (subject to
satisfactory academic performance). Applications are invited from UK,
European Union and overseas students.
 - Department for the Economy (DfE)

The scholarships will cover tuition fees at the home rate and, for
applicants with UK residence only, a maintenance allowance of not less
than £19,000 per annum for three years.
