Dear all,

we are hereby inviting you to join the

LANGUAGE CIRCLE 2024

A Lecture series on the brain and more, virtual and in-person at the
MPI CBS in Leipzig

Neurobiologists of language need to operate in accordance with all
sorts of scientific domains: systems neuroscience, cognitive
psychology, psycholinguistics, quantitative phonetics, and even corpus
linguistics.

The mapping of cognition onto tissue and electrophysiology is hard
enough, as we must select our biological targets rationally. Yet, we
must also stay in touch with the dynamics of cognitive science and
psycholinguistics, where processing theories are refined and
consolidated. And we need to keep an eye on Big Data to know whether
tissue and theory really fit the patterns that are general to the
languages of the world.

The Language Circle hosts a bouquet of voices that can help us to
match neural systems, boxes and arrows, and cultural patterns. The
Language Circle is inter-disciplinary, current, and curious. We are
looking forward to welcoming you on site or online.
