Meeting Description:

The aim of SNAG2024 is to bring together researchers working on the
interaction between negation and TAM. The specific focus will be on
TAM-allomorphy conditioned by negation and on negative allomorphy
conditioned by TAM.

The workshop is organized by Karen De Clercq, Lucie Janků and
Aleksandr Sergienko (CNRS / LLF / Université Paris Cité) within the
framework of the ANR-funded project Sentential Negation Across the
Globe (SNAG).  For more information on the project see the project

Michal Starke (Masaryk University Brno)
Trang Phan (Ca' Foscari University of Venice)

Call for Papers:

Both formal linguistic and typological submissions are welcome. Only
in-person talks/posters will be possible, although streaming (without
active participation) will be made available.

We welcome submissions on the following topics:

Allomorphy in Sentential Negation conditioned by TAM
Allomorphy in TAM conditioned by Sentential Negation (e.g.,
neutralization of categories, finitness shifts, auxiliary insertions,
suppletion)
Morphology of negation
Position(s) of negative marker(s) in syntax
Portmanteau formation in the domain of negation and TAM
The scope of modals and negation

Submission guidelines:

Abstracts should be in a PDF format.
Abstracts should be no longer than 2 pages (Times New Roman, 12 font),
including examples, tables and references.
All abstracts must be anonymized and not reveal the identity of the
author(s) in any way.
Please indicate 3-5 keywords in the PDF, below the title.
Only one single-authored abstract and one co-authored abstract per
person are possible.
Only submissions in English are accepted.
