Call for Papers:

Special Issue on first language attrition

We are currently accepting abstract submissions for a special edition
on first language attrition: "Determining the scope, nature and causes
of attrition in L1 adult grammars." The Special Issue seeks to bring
together both conceptual and methodological discussions as well as
showcase new empirical data on L1 attrition among late-sequential
bilinguals. The aim is to further illustrate and explore the scope of
attrition in adult L1 grammars and better determine the nature and
underlying causes of this phenomenon. Full details of the Special
Issue can be found here:
https://www.mdpi.com/journal/languages/special_issues/84UBXY0612#info.

We request that, prior to submitting a manuscript, interested authors
initially submit a proposed title and an abstract of 400–600 words
summarising their intended contribution. Please send these to the
Guest Editors (lewis.baker at tu-braunschweig.de) or to the Languages
Editorial Office (languages at mdpi.com). Abstracts will be reviewed by
the Guest Editors for the purposes of ensuring proper fit within the
scope of the special issue. Full manuscripts will undergo a
double-blind peer review.

Important dates:
• Abstract submission deadline: 31/05/2024
• Notification of abstract acceptance: 28/06/24
• Full manuscript submission deadline: 29/12/24

Best wishes,
Lewis Baker, Laura Domínguez and Glyn Hicks
