Canon Research Centre Europe (CRE) has a position for top quality
software engineers in its Speech and Language Division.

We are looking for people with a background of high academic
achievement in computer science, natural language processing,
electrical engineering, physics, mathematics or similar quantitative
science - self-motivated people with a desire to continuously improve
and excel.

Applications from experienced engineers and fresh PhDs/exceptional
graduates are invited for the following role:

    SOFTWARE ENGINEER - to develop software for applications in
    natural language processing, information retrieval and speech
    recognition. Applicants should have:

        - excellent software engineering and programming skills in
          C/C++, and ideally Java;

        - experience in constructing large, high quality, robust
          software systems for prototypes or products;

        - the ability to pick up new languages and skills rapidly.

    Commercial software experience, a relevant higher degree or
    expertise any of the following would be an advantage:

        - C++ standard template library;
        - databases;
        - information retrieval;
        - natural language processing.
