Dear Colleagues,


The Leonardo da Vinci funded project MeLLANGE (Multilingual eLearning
in Language Engineering) has dealt with adapting the vocational
training of translators and other language professionals to the new
needs arising from the ongoing globalisation process. The project
aimed, on the one hand, at designing a methodology for the
collaborative creation of eLearning teaching contents in translation,
language resource management and technology. In this framework, a
learner translator corpus in several languages was collected and
annotated at various levels, aiming especially at tagging translation
errors. On the other hand, it addressed the issue of a vocational
training policy at the European level by coordinating a European
Masters of Arts.

The MeLLANGE project is now approaching the end and we are pleased to
invite you to the Project Launch Event which will take place on
September 29, 2007 at the Paris Diderot University (formerly
University of Paris 7).

The project consortium will present the MeLLANGE main results as well
as the future developments envisaged. The Société Française des
Traducteurs ( SFT) will also take part in the event for a special
Question and Answer session among translators and researchers in
transaltion studies.

The joint event will take place at the "Halle aux Farines" building,
amplithéâtre 8C, 5th floor. Participants will be invited to a quick
lunch buffet and a welcoming cocktail will be equally offered by the
SFT at the end of the event. For organisational reasons, you are
kindly requested to confirm your participation by sending an email
specifying your name and professional details to
mellange_participation at eila.univ-paris-diderot.fr before ***September
15th 2007***.

Chers Collègues,

Le projet Européen Leonardo da Vinci MeLLANGE (Multilingual eLearning
in Language Engineering) a eu pour vocation d'adapter la formation
professionnelle des traducteurs et autres professionnels du langage
aux nouveaux besoins nés du processus de mondialisation actuel. Le
projet avait pour objectifs, d'une part, l'élaboration d'une
méthodologie pour la création collaborative de matériels
d'apprentissage en ligne pour l'enseignement de la traduction, de la
gestion de l'information et des technologies de la traduction. Dans ce
cadre, un corpus d'apprenants de la traduction a été collecté dans
plusieurs langues et annoté à différents niveaux dont celui des
difficultés de traduction. D'autre part, il a abordé la mise en place
d'un Master Européen en Traduction et Technologies de la Traduction.

Le projet MeLLANGE touche à sa fin et nous avons le plaisir de vous
inviter à une journée de présentation qui aura lieu le 29 septembre
2007 à l'Université Paris Diderot (Paris 7).

Les membres du projet présenteront à cette occasion les résultats
obtenus ainsi que les directions de développement envisagées. La
Société Française des Traducteurs (SFT) participera à l'évènement lors
d'une session questions - réponses entre traducteurs et
traductologues.

Ce double évènement se tiendra à la "Halle aux farines", amphithéâtre
8C, 5eme étage. Les participants seront invités à un déjeuner-buffet
et la SFT offrira également un cocktail de bienvenue à la fin de la
journée.  Afin de pouvoir organiser au mieux cet évènement, nous vous
prions de nous faire savoir avant le ***15 septembre 2007*** si vous
comptez participer à la journée en envoyant un mail contenant vos
coordonnées, ainsi que votre rattachement professionnel à l'adresse
