EALing VI - Fall School in Linguistics 2008 

The Department of Cognitive Studies at the Paris Ecole Normale
Supérieure (ENS) with the support of the École Normale Supérieure
Foundation,the Euryi Project (Presupposition: A formal pragmatic
approach) funded by the European Science Foundation and the Research
Alliance Ecole Normale Supérieure-University College London
-Université Pierre et Marie Curie

organizes its sixth international Fall School in Linguistics (on  
the ''summer school'' model). The goal of this interdisciplinary  
Fall school is to provide exposure to linguistic theory and grammar  
based approaches to cognitive studies. Its content varies from year  
to year, but typically includes: * General non technical  
introductions to contemporary linguistic research * Intensive  
introductory courses to some core areas of linguistic theory or  
relevant domains * Seminars and talks on current research *  
Interaction between research in grammar and some related domains  
e.g. Psycholinguistics of Acquisition or of processing,  
Neurolinguistics, Experimental Pragmatics, Philosophy of Language/ 
Mind etc... Special events this year will include: A workshop on  
Formal Semantics and Pragmatics, and Experimental Approaches will  
be held on Saturday September 20th. A poster session in which  
school participants can present their work will be organized. A  
call for abstracts detailing submissions guidelines will be issued  
shortly. This Fall school will be held at the Ecole Normale  
Superieure (45 rue d'Ulm, 75005 Paris: see http://www.ens.fr, from  
Tuesday, September 16th to Thursday September the 25th included.
